Midnight in Paris and Kissing Meme
Jan. 19th, 2012 08:50 amShould have done a quick post about this a while back, but things had been hectic at my end. Anyways, several days ago I watched the movie Midnight in Paris. The rundown of the movie is about a writer named Gil (played by Owen Wilson) who is visiting Paris with hisfiancethere to visit her parents. After a bit stuck with the story he's doing, he ends up seeing many writers, artists, and other people in the past (like Scott Fitzgerald and his wife, Ernest Hemingway, Picasso, and many others) after midnight. Pretty soon things got way out of hand when hekeeps telling his fiance about meeting all of those people and blowing off plans the two were suppose to do. Oh, and that he wants to live in Paris too.
I have to say, I enjoyed the movie a lot as it's funny and bittersweet. I say it's bittersweet because there's a mention of how we tend to think what era we're living now is boring and another era, whether it be the past or future, much more exciting. The beginning dragged on a bit and the ending is a bit rushed, but I'm not bothered by those too much. There are some memorable quotes in there, especially ones from Ernest Hemingway (I know a few of you aren't fans of that writer, but the fictional version of him in the movie I love very much because he'll want to box you if you question his skills as a writer, haha). So yeah, I recommend it if you like Owen Wilson, are fine with a different take on past famous people and seeing some scenery porn (yes, going to use that term :P) of Paris both in 1920s and today.

This meme is pretty much you can post links, prompts, art, fics, discussions, etc. that relates to kissing. If you guys want to throw in prompts I or someone else might be interested in, go ahead! Also if any of you want to share this meme around, I'm cool with that too. Maybe I'll do some kissing fic of Roy/Riza and Ed/Winry... perhaps Matthew/Mary from Downton Abbey too, lol.
