Okay, so as those here who visits Pokecommunity knows, the Get Together has been extended from Monday to Thursday. Originally the Get Together's Small Writing Competition is suppose to end on Monday, but then ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
bobnbill, speaker_astinus, and I decided to have it end tonight. Before the extension, there were nine entries and I got done looking through five of them. After the extension, six entries came, five of which were PMed today once I checked my inbox. x_x There's a little over seven hours left until the stories are due, so I'm expecting a whole bunch more last minute entries like the last two times I judged the SWC the last two times. This will be a long week since some of the entries are LONG, haha.
In the meantime, a 30 day fanfic meme I stole fromaamalie because I love to ramble a lot over my writings. Let's see how much I'm able to keep up with this one.
Day 1 - How did you first get into writing fanfic, and what was the first fandom you wrote for? What do you think it was about that fandom that pulled you in?
I got into fanfic writing a little over five years ago when I got back to Pokemon and reading some fanifcs at Serebii forums. Back then there were many BNF writers there like Cheshire Cat, Scrap, Saber,grandmastasexeh, undersaffiresky, and evil_bunny_king. I loved their writings a lot and so I was inspired to write a Pokemon fic. I did and able to finish it, but oh my god back then I didn't know how to keep my tenses straight, dialogue is all stuffy, and too many awkward sentences. x_x I still love the story though because it was my first story written in a while (I had written some original works before going to fanfiction) and had fun with it.
What drew me in writing for the Pokemon fandom is the many different ways you can go about writing it. It's so open since you can write about either original or canon characters, the Pokemon, the evil teams, a certain event that happened in game/anime/manga/any other source, etc. There are endless possibilities.
...Oh man, I really want to write Pokemon fanfiction again. ;_;
